In support of development in Somalia, UNDP collaborates with a large number of bilateral and multi-lateral partners, and during the last two years has received contributions from AG-Fund, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, UK Department for International Development (DFID), European Commission, Finland, Global Fund for AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM), Ireland, Italy, Japan, League of Arab States, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, USAID, World Bank and the Zayed Foundation. UNDP Somalia has set up partnership agreements with some of these donors which allow for greater flexibility in fund allocation to individual projects, multi-year funding and reduction of transactions through consolidated reporting and review at policy level. Strategic partnership frameworks have been concluded with the European Commission (11.6 million euros June 2006-8), DFID (11 million GBP, June 2006-8), Norway (30 million NOK per year), Sweden (30M SEK Nov2007-9), Denmark (40M DKK 2008-9) and USAID (6.2M USD 2007-8). Regular donor consultations are organized on a six monthly basis and focus on overall performance under the partnership as well as a shared risk analysis. UNDP Somalia is currently working on expanding its partnerships with regional actors and funding agencies such as the League of Arab States and the Islamic Development Bank as well as establishing innovative partnerships with the private sector.
