Provide inclusive growth

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is an ambitious, universal and holistic agenda. UNDP promotes an integrated approach that tackles the connected issues of multidimensional poverty, inequality and exclusion, and sustainability, while enhancing knowledge, skills and production technologies to enlarge peoples’ choices, reduce risks and sustain development gains.

In Somalia, our goal is to strengthen capacities and provide an enabling environment for access to opportunities, focusing on the most vulnerable and excluded population groups – in ways that are sustainable from economic, social and environmental standpoints.

To achieve this goal, we work with the Government of Somalia, local authorities, civil society organisations and UN partners to promote cross cutting economic recovery and livelihoods, and effectively deliver programmes that reduce poverty, build peace, and ensure sustainable development and growth. These programmes are targeted to provide inclusive growth for all Somalis:  women and men, young people, and marginalised and vulnerable groups such as internally displaced people, minority groups, and people in rural communities.
