First judicial training in years commences in Mogadishu
Mogadishu’s first legal training program in years was launched in April as part of a UNDP-backed effort to bolster Somalia’s judicial system.
The training is aimed at judges, prosecutors and judicial support staff, and was officially opened at a colorful ceremony in the Somali capital by the Chief Justice Mr. Aided Abdullahi (Ilka-hanaf) on Saturday 23 April, 2011.
In his speech, Mr Abdullahi urged trainees to use the six-month program to enhance their legal knowledge, which he said could help improve judicial standards in the country.
